Queenstown
Even if you have never travelled in New Zealand you will have heard of the wonderful place called Queenstown.
Deep in the South Island Queenstown is situated in the Wakatipu basin, on the shores of Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown has everything you need to enjoy life.
As well as being the centre of skiing and snowboarding in the South Island, Queenstown is also the home of Bungy Jumping, and famous jet boat rides, there are golf courses, mountain bike tracks, climbing, to mention but a few of the endless activities that are available apart from skiing.
We will even show you around the Frisbee Golf Course!!!
The centre of Queenstown is a hive of activity. There are Restaurants from all around the world, with prices varying from the more extravagant to what seems to be quite ridiculously cheap.
Then of course there is the infamous Queenstown Night Life, with Bars, Pubs and Clubs to suit all tastes.

During the course of the winter there are many different special events that happen in Queenstown. The Winter Festival is one of the opening highlights of the winter season with a weeks worth of Live bands, street parties and a whole host of crazy activities which have got to be seen to be believed. Then there big air comps, rail jams, and the Spring Carnival.

New Zealand Mountains
Coronet Peak and The Remarkables
On either side of the Wakatipu basin stand two mountains, both provide excellent skiing & riding, and both have very differing characteristics.
Coronet Peak
"The Peak" as it is known, will be the heart of The Instructor Training Co.’s activities. It boasts some of the best skiing in the southern hemisphere. With two high speed chairs, a 6 seater and a 4 seater, as well as a double chair, a t-bar, a magic carpet and a beginner’s tow, it means that there is a fast turn around with terrain for all levels.
There is an extensive and well developed snow making system in place that ensures the Coronet always has good snow coverage.
Coronet Peak has an excellent half pipe and a rail park.
Coronet Peak is a short 25-minute (18km) drive along a fully sealed road from Queenstown. The ski area has a targeted opening date of June 10 and the season generally lasts until early October.
The Remarkables
"The Remarks" is just on the other side of the valley and has some of the best off piste terrain in the area. With runs like Homeward Bound and Alta Chutes, it is hard to beat The Remakables on a good powder day.
The Remarkables has also built up an excellent park with tabletops, spines and rails where some of the best slopestyle comps are held.
The Remarkables is a 45-minute drive from Queenstown and is scheduled to open from June 24 until October.
Both of these ski areas are run by nzski.com
